“This Is Not The Computer For You”

That is not a bug in how he’s using the computer. That is the entire mechanism by which a kid becomes a developer. Or a designer. Or a filmmaker. Or whatever it is that comes after spending thousands of hours alone in a room with a machine that was never quite right for what you were asking of it.

I resonated more with that piece than I expected because, frankly, I was that kid who obsessed with Apple computers before getting my first iMac circa 2009.
Maybe if I had been born 20 years later, I would be that kid who lusts after the MacBook Neo because he feels limited by Chromebooks, who knows.
